According to reports, cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul were suspended by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday. The two were facing flak for their controversial comments on Koffee With Karan this week.

The Committee of Administrators (CoA) chairman Vinod Rai on Friday reportedly said, "Both Pandya and Rahul have been suspended pending an inquiry." Earlier today, NDTV reported that the two will be dropped from the first one-day international against Australia to be played in Sydney on Saturday.

It is yet to be ascertained whether an internal committee of the BCCI or an ad hoc ombudsman will conduct the inquiry. Rai added, "The Indian team management will take a call on whether they would want to keep the two with the team or send them back. There is a school of thought that they be kept with the team as the backlash back home could be severe but majority in BCCI brass is against the decision."

Even Indian Skipper Virat Kohli condemned the two's comments on the TV show. Speaking at a press conference in Sydney on Friday, Kohli said, "We as the Indian cricket team and responsible cricketers don't align with those views, those were individual opinions. We are still waiting for a decision to be made."
