Heavy traffic reported in Chennai, people crowd shops for necessities

Kauvery Hospital released its seventh official medical bulletin on Tuesday evening at around 4.30 pm informing the serious condition of DMK Chief Karunanidhi.

It stated, "There has been significant decline in the clinical condition of Kalaignar Dr M Karunanidhi over the last few hours. Despite maximum medical support, his vital organ functions continue to deteriorate." The release also mentioned that Kalaignar's current condition is extremely critical and unstable.

Following the dire situation, heavy traffic in Chennai has been reported. Office employees have taken to the road to leave to their homes due to the uncertain situation. This has caused intense traffic blocks in many parts of the city.

Reportedly, people crowded what little shops and petrol bunks that have been opened around the city to buy necessities. Most of the shops have already been closed in case of any sudden eruption of violence. TASMAC outlets have reportedly been shut down before 6 pm and movie theatres also closed.
