DELHI DAREDEVILS CHANGES ITS NAME! HERE IS HOW CSK WELCOMED THEM

On Tuesday, IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils changed its name to Delhi Capitals and will henceforth go with that identity.

Reportedly, the change comes after JSW Sport became a team owner along with the original owner GMR. The core members of the team including Ricky Ponting as the head coach and Rishabh Pant as the team captain will be retained. However, due to World Cup around the corner, a majority of foreign players will not be available to participate in the IPL 2019.

The team management conducted an event to announce the name change. The event was even live streamed on Facebook. In response to their announcement, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) took to Twitter to welcome the new version of the Delhi team. CSK tweeted, "Super happy to welcome the all new @DelhiCapitals. To put it in Thamizh, varuga varuga #ThalaNagaram! #WhistlePodu.”
