WATCH - "OUR RELATIONSHIP WAS BEYOND JUST PARTIES": KAMAL HAASAN'S EMOTIONAL SPEECH

DMK veteran Dr M Karunanidhi passed away at the Kauvery Hospital on August 7 at 6.10 pm following a decline in his health. The five-time former CM was admitted to the hospital on July 26 following a fever due to urinary tract infection.

His body was kept at Rajaji Hall for public view. Many prominent political leaders and film stars visited Rajaji Hall to pay their final respects to the DMK patriarch including CM Edappadi Palaniswami, Deputy CM O Panneerselvam, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.

Haasan addressed the press after paying homage to Kalaignar. He expressed his unwillingness to raise his voice due to his emotions and the current situation. He said, "Our relationship was beyond just parties. I am the youngest in the field of arts and he was the eldest."

He thanked the DMK patriarch for his contribution to the arts field. He concluded his address by saying that he has come to pay homage to Kalaignar and will always continue to do so.
