DMK to move court for memorial at Marina for Kalignar.

Peeved at not being allotted a space at Marina for a memorial for late DMK leader M Karunanidhi, sources within the DMK camp said that it has moved court regarding the same and has also requested for the case to be heard on a high priority basis, which is scheduled to take place at 10.30 pm tonight, as per media sources.

Tamil Nadu government, earlier in the day, cited legal issues and denied place for a memorial at Marina and instead allotted two acres of land near Gandhi Mandapam, an arrangement that has not gone down well with the DMK considering that other revered leaders like Anna, who was an inspiration of sorts for the late DMK chief, has been laid to rest there.

Stalin had also made another request to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to reconsider the decision. Many cadres have been breaking into protests over the government's decision to not allot a memorial at Marina for their beloved Kalaignar.
