Changes in Indian squad ahead of 2nd Test against Australia

On the eve of the second Test between India and Australia in Perth, Indian skipper Virat Kohli has announced the 13-man squad for the Test.

Following Indian's historic win in the first Test in Adelaide, Kohli has decided to make some amends to the team. Ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been ruled out of the second Test due to a left-sided abdominal strain. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been brought in as a replacement.

Opener Rohit Sharma has also been ruled out as he is still undergoing treatment for the lower back injury he sustained while fielding in Adelaide.

With Ravindra Jadeja as the replacement, the Indian bowling lineup consists of Jadeja, and the five fast men Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav.

Teen sensation Prithvi Shaw is still out of the picture as he is yet to recover from the ankle ligament injury that he sustained during practice.

India lead the four-match Test series 1-0. The second Test will be played from December 14 onwards at the new Optus Stadium in Perth.
