An elephant at the Ettumanoor Mahadeva temple in Kerala's Kottayam district ran amok on Monday during the annual festivities in the early morning, shows a viral video. The locals atop the temple gopuram came to the rescue of the mahout, who was atop the elephant, by dropping a rope, say reports, adding that at least 15 people, including children, were injured in the panic that ensued. Reports further suggested that the elephant went on a rampage after being accidentally poked by another tusker.
