Imran Khan invites Amir Khan and cricketers to swear-in ceremony

After Tehreek-e-Insaf's massive win in Pakistan, former cricketer and to-be Prime Minister Imran Khan will have his oath-taking ceremony on August 11. The politician has reportedly invited a few Indian celebrities for his big day.

According to reports, actor Amir Khan and cricketers Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev and Navjot Singh Sidhu were invited personally by Khan to attend the ceremony. Sidhu graciously accepted the invitation and was quoted as saying, "It is a great honour and I accept the invitation. Men of genius are admired, men of power are feared but men of character are trusted. Khan Sahab is a man of character. He can be trusted."

It was even anticipated that PM Narendra Modi would be invited to the ceremony but was later rebuffed by the party. Modi had called Khan after his victory to congratulate him.

It was later announced that no foreign personalities will be invited to the ceremony. The party spokesperson, Fawad Chaudhry reportedly said, "It has been decided that no foreign personalities will be invited to the ceremony — it will be a completely national event. Only a few close friends of Imran Khan will be invited."
