Samsung opens world\'s largest mobile phone factory in Noida

Samsung opened its new mobile phone factory in Noida on Monday. Reportedly, the factory is the world's largest mobile phone factory. Samsung's original capacity of 68 million units per year will be doubled to 120 million units per year with this factory.

 

A new initiative, namely, 'Make for the World' has been introduced through which mobile phones produced in India will be exported all over the world. HC Hong, CEO of Samsung India reportedly said, "We ‘Make in India’, ‘Make for India’ and now, we will ‘Make for the World’. We are aligned with government policies and will continue to seek their support to achieve our dream of making India a global export hub for mobile phones.”

 

The factory was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Moon Jae-in. The plant was one of the first global electronics manufacturing unit set up in India. It spreads over 1,29,000 sq metres.
