HIMA DAS BREAKS DOWN WHILE SINGING NATIONAL ANTHEM, CHECK OUT PM MODI'S REACTION

18-year-old Hima Das created history on Thursday by winning the first ever gold medal for India at the International Association of Athletics Federation U-20 World Athletics Championships in Finland. This is India's maiden gold medal at the championships.

A video of the youngster's eyes welling up with tears while singing the national anthem after her win in Finland has been going viral on social media. Das can be seen emotionally breaking down in patriotism while singing the anthem. The video has moved many, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Modi tweeted out a congratulatory tweet on Saturday morning addressing the athlete. He wrote, "Unforgettable moments from @HimaDas8’s victory. Seeing her passionately search for the Tricolour immediately after winning and getting emotional while singing the National Anthem touched me deeply. I was extremely moved. Which Indian won’t have tears of joy seeing this!"
