His ‘Superstar’ status may be his
biggest award. Yet, recognition for significant
contribution is definitely an incentive to continue
to perform better. The Maharashtra Government
will confer the Raj Kapoor award for this year
on Rajnikanth. The award carries prize money
of Rs. 1 lakh, a citation, and a memento. Rajnikanth
will receive the award at the glittering State
Awards ceremony on April 30th at Thane.
Incidentally, Rajnikath aka Sivaji Rao hails
originally from Maharashtra. He migrated to
Karnataka and then joined Tamil films. Because
of his immense star appeal and charisma on screen,
he won the hearts of all.
