Remo brings profits to Andhra bus.
December 19, 2005

This piece of news takes the cake for how much sway films hold over popular tastes. In Andhra Pradesh where the audience is just crazy about film stars, people did not patronize the rickety public transport buses. They preferred traveling by the swanky buses operated by private companies.

Bitten by mounting losses, the top management of the transport undertakings hit upon a novel idea to lure commuters. They gave a fresh coat of paint (literally) to the buses and named them after popular film characters. The results are there for everyone to see. People are slowly hopping on to these buses. One such popular route is named after Remo of Anniyan!
