Come January 14th, the titans are going to clash on the screens. Simbu with his Saravana, Vijay with his Aadhi and Ajith with his Paramasivan. This time the Pongal fare is turning out to be a clash of remakes. Saravana, with Simbu and Jyothika in the lead is the remake of the Telugu Ravi Teja – Meera Jasmine hit Bhadra. Directed by K S Ravikumar, the movie has the same Telugu cast, excepting the hero and the heroine. A major portion of the film was not shot at all. They have used the Telugu cans.

That saves a lot of money for the producer indeed. Vijay's Aadhi is the Telugu hit Atthanokkode. For Paramasivan, Vasu brings a kind of remix – a part from a Sanjay Dutt hit and another from a Telugu hit. It will be interesting to see how these remakes fare at the Tamil cinema houses. Trade analysts feel that it will reveal the pulse of today's moviegoers.
