No more trailers and songs for Tamil movies.
January 03, 2006

Tamil movies producer council today announced that no trailers, video clips, songs, and comedy clips of their movies are to be broadcast in televisions. This move by the producer council is to prevent the dominance of private televisions and to avoid drop in the revenue of their movies at the box office. A panel consisting of top producers like A.M.Rathnam, Kalai Puli Dhanu, Anbalaya Prabhakaran has been constituted to look into the issue.

Such a decision was made earlier as well but few days later the producers were found selling the rights of their movies to the private televisions. This time around the producers council seem to be more strict about the proceedings. Hope everything is resolved for the betterment of cinema.
