A woman working at Apollo Hospital in Chennai reportedly jumped off a running train into Adyar river and committed suicide on Saturday. Initially, police investigations revealed that the woman's husband had been torturing her demanding dowry, which could have forced her to take the extreme step. However, the woman's mother recently claimed that the man's illicit affair with another woman was also the reason that led to her suicide. Police are investigating the matter.
