Geththu is an upcoming action entertainer starring Udayanidhi Stalin and Amy Jackson in lead roles. The film is directed by Thirukumaran and music is composed by Harris Jayaraj.

An urbane and trendy track paves the beginnings of this album with fluid ease. This is a cakewalk for a superior singer like Naresh Iyer and Ranina Reddy follows him with her stylish singing. There is little scope for experimentation as most of the orchestration is digitized with loops and predictable rhythm progression.

A typical Harris Jayaraj melody arrives next with classy vocals of Haricharan and Shashaa Tirupati. The mild trance strokes and neat treble is effectively coupled with guitar strums. The piano chord touches set the ideal mood perfectly and paving for a relaxing ambience. The usage of electronic nadaswaram in the interlude is another good move by the composer. However, it has irresistible resemblance to the popular number Pookkale Sattru from I.

The detour occurs in an abrupt fashion with an eerie number laced with sultry chorus along with peppy Rap lyrics as well. The electric guitar stands out in a prominent fashion. Nevertheless, the track neither offers novelty or paves the way for any experimentation.

A funky number is rightfully saved by Karthik’s mesmerizing voice which reaches a no man’s land as it progresses by. While the trendiness and usage of electric guitar and bass work sounds impressive, the lack of linear progression and pale experimentation makes it a fairly passable listen.

The striking finale occurs with a rustic folk number dominated outright by Gana Vinoth and the talented Anthony Dassan. Lack of new sounding and experimentation is quite evident in this track as well.  The loops and the rhythm section sounds quite out of place and fail to aid the powerful lead vocalists.
