Vattaram kick off? Saran still in search
for Arya’s pair!! |

The search for that elusive heroine
for the film Vattaram with Arya
seems to be endless! Much like his
guru, K Balachander, Saran is known
for introducing new faces on screen,
more so with actresses. Manu, Amoga,
Kiran, Kamna Jethmalani, Richa Pallot
are just some of the names that
come to mind. In the case of Vattaram
however, where Saran is both the
producer and the director, he was
facing a bit of a problem, as he
couldn't zero in on that debutant.
In fact, his film was being delayed
due to this elusive face.

| Finally,
he roped in Anushka, a name familiar in
the sphere of Tollywood, with a couple of
releases in Telugu. But in a sudden turn
of events, Anushka is out of the Vattaram
project.

Saran reveals that the reason for
this sudden decision is because
Anushka couldn't commit for bulk
dates as was required for Vattaram,
due to her earlier commitments in
Telugu. Since Saran has plans of
releasing Vattaram for Diwali, he
will need to finish the project
on a continuous-dates basis, and
since Anushka was not able to confirm
bulk dates, Saran is back to square
one. "I am again looking for
a lead opposite Arya, and I hope
I manage to find someone with talent,
who fits my character," he
says.

As
for signing in Arya for the film, Saran
is more than happy about it as he believes
that this is one star who has the potential
and the capability to become a versatile
actor.
Saran is known for his out-and-out entertainers,
and his first film as a producer, Aaru with
Surya and Trisha, did decently at the box
office. In Vattaram, actor Napoleon too
has an important role, apart from other
big stars like Ashish Vidyarthi, Ramesh
Khanna, Dhandapani, Karthik and Vincent
Asokan. The other credits are: A Venkatesh
(cinematography); Bharadwaj (music); Vairamuthu
(lyrics); Suresh Urs (editing); Mohan Mahendran
(art); Thiagarajan (stunt) and Shobhi (dance).
