Ramesh, a 48-year-old security guard, flung acid on a 40-year-old woman named Riziya working in a textile shop for allegedly spurning his advances. The incident reportedly happened on Tuesday night when the accused reached the victim’s house in Kanathur to carry out the dastardly act. Neighbours rushed Riziya to a nearby hospital. Since she didn’t suffer major injuries with the acid being diluted, Riziya was discharged after treatment. A case has been registered against Ramesh.
