As many as 35,000 farmers under the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) from across Maharashtra entered Mumbai, on Sunday afternoon to protest at the state Assembly on Monday after covering almost 180 km on foot over five days. The farmers across Maharashtra have reached Mumbai last night and gathered at Azad Maidan at around 7:00 am on Monday. They will be protesting for the provision of a complete loan waiver from the Maharashtra government and implementation of the recommendation of the MS Swaminathan Commission that aimed at safeguarding the interests of small farmers.
