According to media reports, heavy rain lashed the coastal town of Rameswaram on Monday morning. The rain lasted for more than 20 minutes. Weather blogger Pradeep John on Sunday took to Facebook and clarified that the low-pressure area is likely to become a depression. He, however, scrapped immediate possibilities of a strong cyclone like Ockhi.
