This
must be sad news for Namitha’s
fans for she has decided not to do
glamorous roles anymore. Yes, she
says she will concentrate more on
her acting talents and is therefore
going in for meaty stories with a
substantial role for herself. One
such movie she has signed up for is
Azhagaana Ponnuthaan, produced by
Kesavan for K Films and directed by
Thirugnanam. Sundar C Babu who scored
the music for Chitthiram Paesudhedi
will score for this film too.

The
puja for this film kicked off at the
old Pillaiyar Temple in AVM Studios
today. The event, held at a low key,
had many Kerala distributors present.
Believe it or not, Namitha has a big
market back in Malabar. Pacchha Kuthirai,
a flop here, ran to full house in
Kerala. That’s because of Namitha.
Among the VIPs present were R B Chaudhary
and Nalli Kuppusamy. The Kerala distributors
were disappointed in that they could
not see Namitha. She could not make
it to the puja.

| Thangaraj,
producer of Sundara Travels, bought the
Kerala rights of the film by paying one
lakh per copy more than the other distributors.
The going for Namitha is indeed great.
