Himesh Reshammiya: a safe bet and sure hit!!
July 12, 2006
Himesh Reshammiya
If there is one music director that Bollywood is going gaga about, it is indeed Himesh Reshammiya, the man who is all set to score music for Kamal's Dasavatharam. The movie he composes songs for becomes a hit, and the songs, mega hits. Now Himesh is combining with DJ Akbar Sami to remix about 400 Hindi film songs. The duo has already completed 80 and hope to complete the rest in another two years. Remix is not just mixing your compositions to existing hits. It requires a fine year for tune and a good sense for lyrics.
Says Himesh, "I think Akbar is a legend in the remix industry. He is so good at his work that even though he experiments with sounds and adds new dimensions, he keeps the basic melody and rhythm of the song intact." Himesh has a penchant for remix. Four songs of the six he composes for a film are remixes. It looks like the two are set to create a record of sorts.
