Insat-4C failure: A big jolt to Sun TV’s plans
July 11, 2006
INSAT-4C
It is not just the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) but also the Sun TV that is hit by the failure to launch Insat-4C into orbit. The Sun Network had booked seven of the twelve high-powered Ku-transponders for its DTH (Direct To Home) and DSNG operations, which INSAT-4C carried. The other channels that booked transponders on this satellite are CNBC, Times TV and Kairali.
The Sun TV, now with power both at home and at the centre, has been drawing up plans to expand its network operations. The failure of Insat-4C comes indeed as a major set back.
