Chandran to be arrested? |

We
are back at the same game of revenge and
reprisal. SS Chandran, actor and Rajya Sabha
MP of a prominent political party in the
Opposition now, is embroiled in a case of
dowry harassment. According to Latha of
Madurai, she had married Dhanasekaran, nephew
of Chandran in 2002. At that time, she had
been told that the couple would live in
Chandran’s house in Madurai, as Dhanasekaran
was looking after his business interests
because his own son was eyeing a career
in films. Within a few months, Dhanasekaran
left for Chennai and was living with another
woman in Chandran’s house there.

Aghast at the turn of events, Latha
had approached Chandran for a solution
and he demanded more dowry. Her
parents gave the sum, yet, she could
not live with her husband. When
she went again, she claimed that
Chandran and Dhanasekaran, threatened
her with dire consequences.
Unable to take the injustice, she
filed a complaint against Chandran
and Dhanasekaran at the Special
Women’s Cell.

Police teams from Madurai swooped in at
Chandran’s Chennai residence, but
they were told that he had left for Madurai.
Dhanasekaran has been picked up for interrogation
and brought to Madurai.
There is a buzz that Chandran could be arrested
any time. |
