Finance Minister P. Chidambaram is the latest to join. The constant refrain of all these folks seems to be that while they do not fully endorse her views on the issue, what has pained them is the attempt to muffle a person’s individual opinion, which is a basic right in a democracy. They have supported all forms of peaceful protest and not the nasty kind of affairs like throwing chappals, tomatoes and eggs. They have also requested the actress to show more restraint in commenting on sensitive issues.
