There
was no trace of a strained attempt at being politically
correct or remaining on the safe side.
When SRK was asked about the ‘feud’,
he too made a very casual and relaxed reply. He
said that both him and the Big B were sitting
back and enjoying what the media was building
up. Here too the response seemed absolutely genuine.
If the big stars of Bollywood continue in the
same vein then this news that has been ruling
Page 3 for quite some time now might be on its
way out. After all where is the fun in the news
when the two main characters appear irreversibly
indifferent? This seems to be a classic case of
overexposure demeaning the news value of a story.
The media may have just killed the goose that
lays golden eggs.
But the media is not the one to give up that easily.
All the tricks in the bag will be tried to revive
this news item, unless they find something more
interesting to pursue. The next media statement
might very well look like, ‘Both Amitabh
and Shahrukh, wonderful actors without question,
are putting their acting skills to very good use
to conceal their grouse against each other.’
