During the recent audio launch of the Thittam Poattu Thirudura Kootam, director Venkat Prabhu spoke about the film and its makers.

"The script of this film is very tough. It can be explained easily, but the scripting of a heist-action film is challenging. People automatically assume heist films are ripped off from films like Ocean's 11 (a Hollywood film).

Why, they even insinuated that Mankatha is copied from Ocean's 11. But the fact is that heist-action is a genre of its own."
