Hindu Mahasabha leader Pandit Ashok Sharma reportedly said that Kamal Haasan should be ‘shot dead or hanged’ in response to Ulaganayagan's column in a weekly magazine. Following this, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan condemned death threats and demanded immediate arrests of those issuing such threats.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor also demanded the arrest of those ‘inciting violence’ in the name of religion.
