Law to make Parent-Teachers Association compulsory

Justice N Kirubakaran of the Madras High Court reportedly said that a legislation must be enacted to regulate Parent-Teachers Association (PTA) and make it mandatory in all schools in the interest of students and for the development of education in Tamil Nadu. Reports say, there are currently no acts making PTA’s mandatory in every school in Tamil Nadu and noting this HC has directed the State government to frame the necessary rules. Notably, similar acts have been enacted in Maharashtra and Kerala making it mandatory to constitute PTA in schools.
