A Supreme Court bench has reportedly directed the government to decide if the sale of liquor on suburban highways can be permitted. Following this, the Tamil Nadu government has decided to allow star hotels along OMR highways to reopen bars. Notably, bars along Old Mahabalipuram Road and Shollinganallur highway remain closed for the past two years.
