A man was reportedly murdered in front of his daughter in broad daylight near north Mambalam in Chennai on Tuesday. Reports say that the man was on the way to drop his daughter in college in a two-wheeler when three unidentified men stabbed him to death. The man died on the spot while his daughter suffered injuries. A police case has been registered and investigations are underway.

Reports say, the man was a BJP activist and the party has demanded that the case be transferred to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). In a shocking incident, a 25-year-old woman was burnt by her alleged former colleague in full public view in Secunderabad. The incident happened on Thursday evening when the man called the woman over the phone and asked her to come to a particular spot where he was waiting with a can of Kerosene. A five-man gang reportedly murdered a man in front of his house at Vyasarpadi in Chennai, on Friday. Reports say, Kannan was a close associate of late gangster ‘Vellai’ Ravi and a gang attacked him with sickles while he was returning home. An Ernakulam court has convicted Ameerul Islam, the lone convict in the Jisha rape case. The quantum of sentence is to be decided tomorrow. In April 2016, law student Jisha was found naked, with intestines pulled out, in a pool of blood at her house in Perumbavoor in Kerala. Subsequently, Islam, a labourer from Assam was arrested for the rape and murder of Jisha, which shook God's Own Country by storm. Many also found parallels with the Delhi 2012 gang-rape.

Sandhya, 28, a woman in Kerala's Kattapana district was arrested for killing her own eight-day-old baby because the child didn't have her colour and her husband's facial features. According to the cops, Sandhya strangulated the infant using a cloth around the neck. A murder case has been registered against Sandhya.
