The video is of May 20, 2019 that was released this week by the Oklahoma City Police Department. In the video, three police officers are seen restraining a man, identified as Derrick Scott, 42, who can be heard asking for his medicine and saying that he can’t breathe.

To which, one of the officers, identified as Jarred Tipton, replied to him saying, “I don’t care,” while another officer can be heard saying a couple of minutes later “you can breathe just fine."

Further in the video, Scott, loses consciousness and appears unresponsive after a few minutes. After being rushed to the hospital, the medical team pronounced him dead. While, an autopsy report listed his cause of death as a collapsed lung.

As per NBC news report, this incident took place on May 20, 2019 where officers were informed about an area in south of downtown Oklahoma City after someone reported that a black man was arguing with people and brandishing a gun.

Meanwhile, in the footage, Scott can be seen running from officers after Tipton asks if he has any weapons. One of the officers also removed a handgun from Scott’s pocket. Scott's autopsy report stated that the police response did not result in “fatal trauma” and listed several other “significant” factors that contributed to his death, including physical restraint, recent methamphetamine use, asthma, emphysema and heart disease, NBC news further reported.

This video was released weeks after George Floyd, who died after a Minneapolis police officer kneeled on his neck for more than eight minutes. In a video, Floyd could be heard saying, “I can’t breathe”. Watch the video below:
