‘SACRED THREAD’ AFFECTED ME THE MOST: KAMAL HAASAN TRIGGERS CONTROVERSY

Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan triggered a controversy on Saturday by saying that sacred thread affected him the most. He was replying to questions, raised with the hashtag #AskKamalHaasan on Twitter.

The founder of Makkal Needhi Maiam made the remark when a Twitter user asked which ‘Nool’ (Tamil term for book) had a huge impact on him. Kamal Haasan replied, “There is a Nool which affected me, “Poonool” (sacred thread), that’s why I avoided it (roughly translated from Tamil)”.

Earlier, while replying to a question as part of #AskKamalHaasan session, the actor said that he will welcome actor Vijay if he enters politics. He said, “I welcome all my brothers, and he is my favourite brother, not only to me, but to everyone, I definitely welcome him.”
