MADURAI: MAN ASSAULTED WITH KNIFE FOR SHOUTING AT DOG

A 65-year-old shepherd was attacked for shouting at a dog near Arumanai in Kanyakumari district. He was reportedly attacked with a knife by the dog's owner.
Sathya Nesan was allegedly taking his herd for a graze when the dog suddenly barked at him. Startled, the 65-year-old threw abuses at the creature. Witnessing this, the dog's owner Varthangan got enraged and picked up an argument with him.
However, the argument escalated and Varthagan reportedly ran into his house, took a knife and attacked the shepherd. Nesan was critically injured in the chest and head. A case has reportedly been filed against Varthagan.
