A third-year BTech student was reportedly sentenced to five years in prison and fined Rs 9,000 for posting intimate pictures of a girl online, in Kolkata on Thursday. TOI reports say, the student got private photos of the girl on promise of marriage and later blackmailed her for sexual favours with the photos. However, when she refused, he uploaded the photos on the internet. A complaint was filed last year and the incident of revenge pornography was considered as virtual rape by the court.
