According to recent reports, a statue of Mahatma Gandhi was defaced in Kerala at around 7am on Thursday. Earlier, on Wednesday night, a Dr BR Ambedkar bust was also tainted with paint by unidentified people near Tiruvottiyur in Chennai. Police are investigating the matter. These acts of vandalism across various parts of the country have been condemned by many including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
