Mumbai constable writes letter to higher ups asking to beg in uniform

A constable from Mumbai wrote a letter to his higher officials requesting to let him beg in uniform. Reportedly, Dnyaneshwar Ahirrao wrote in the letter that he had taken leave from March 20 to March 22 and had to take a further five-day emergency leave as his wife broke her leg. However, after his leave, he was not given a salary at all.

He wrote in the letter, "I have to take care of my sick wife, old parents and a daughter. Besides, I have to pay a monthly instalment of the loan I have taken. But since my salary has been stopped, I am unable to meet these expenses. So I want permission from you to beg in uniform."
