Pachaikkili Muthucharam is pronounced hit - in urban centers that is - already. If that had made Gautam happier, undeniably the movie has not pleased a few people. Call taxi drivers, to be precise. The Call taxi drivers association is an angry lot these days fuming over
Gautam's portrayal of call taxi drivers as criminals. "People have a hard time trusting us after the release of the movie. Our income rates have plummeted and people think we are atrocious", Baskar, Secretary of the Call Taxi driver's association was quoted as saying. The association is all set to drag the movie and director Gautam to court. We are filing a case against the movie and will seek redressal for our issue, were Baskar's words.
However, Gautam didn't let it get him down. Those were fictitious characters. If I have to be restricted in creating characters, it is impossible to make a movie, the director replied in defense.
Meanwhile, taking offence on the funny reference of a bank (Bank of Buruda) in Thiruvilayadal Arambam, Bank of Baroda officials have approached the court seeking a ban on the movie.
Well, is sense of humor dying in Tamil Nadu or is it just them?
