It is a disturbing trend in Bollywood.
Actresses refusing to associate themselves
with films that they have acted in.
The reasons for this are not very clear,
but there is more than one instance
of such a tendency. Both the heroines
in question are very popular stars and
by promoting a film they can surely
add to the money that the film brings
back.
By refusing to do so, the producer of the film is
vulnerable to losses that can be incurred.The two
actresses who have declined to take part in the
promotions of their films are Rekha and Priyanka
Chopra. Rekha decided not to promote the film Yatra
in which she has played a major role. Priyanka Chopra
has dissociated herself from Big Brother in which
she has played heroine to Sunny Deol.
May be some injustice was done to these actresses during the making of the film or maybe they just felt that the movie was not good enough to be promoted by them. Whatever the case, in the end the loser is the collection of the film that has a bearing on the life of the producer. It would be very nice if artistes made it a point to stick to projects till the end once they have committed to them.
