is moving forward. It is embracing
new technology by the day and it is
for the better. It is in keeping with
this that Bollywood is going to try
out digital projection for the first
time. The experiment will begin on
the 26 th of January with the release
of Salaam-E-Ishq.
The movie will be projected digitally
in select multiplex screens of Mumbai.
The audience response towards this new attempt
is expected to be encouraging as better and
more sustained picture quality is assured. The
cost of film reels is also cut out. If the experiment
is successful, the industry plans to implement
it in a phased manner in big cities.
However the downside is that the audience will
have to shell out a few extra bucks for enriched
viewing experience.
