For the first time in the history of All India
Radio, a function was held in Trichy to honor
many artists belonging to Tamil cine industry.
The awardees for the year 2005-06 were selected
based on a web poll, post and by the listeners
of Kodaikanal FM station.

The award function was held at the National College grounds,
Trichy. Senior members from Police department and All
India Radio gave away the awards to artists.
Vishal won the best actor award for Sandakozhi and Pooja,
the best actress for her performance in Thambi. Director
P Vasu won the award for direction for Chandramukhi. Sabesh
Murali won the best music director award for Thavamai
Thavamirundu and Haricharan for best male playback singer
for Kaadal. Sneha was honored with a special award for
her performance in ABCD and autograph. Kanja Karuppu and
Vivek were bestowed upon with best comedian awards. All
the artists were present to receive the award except Vishal
who was busy in shooting. On behalf of him, his secretary
obtained the citation.
