People tend to get mad, but at times, it goes far and ends up as abuse. A Chinese woman slapped her boyfriend 52 times in public for not gifting her a phone on the unofficial Chinese Valentine's Day. However, when the police tried to take her away, the man stopped them.

A video of the incident captured by passersby has gone viral on the internet. The video shows the man standing still as his girlfriend slaps him repeatedly. The man did not defend himself or retaliate as his girlfriend continued to beat him. Several passersby tried to stop her, however, she continued to abuse the man even after the police arrived.

The woman was supporting her boyfriend financially and got furious when he could not give her a new smartphone to celebrate Chinese Valentine's Day. The man felt that he was in the wrong and thus, allowed his girlfriend to take her anger out on him, reports Times Now.

"Officers then tried to take the couple to the police station for mediation, but the man, fearing that his girlfriend would get into trouble, stopped them from taking her away," Asia One reported.
