Wondering where the demonetised notes are gone?

According to reports on Hindustan Times, the Rs 1000, Rs 500 notes that were banned in 2016 are being recycled by inmates who are serving a life term in Chennai Central jail. The jail is reportedly getting the supply from the Reserve Bank of India. The notes are being recycled into stationery items that are being supplied to the government officials.
