Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Monday began his speech in Tamil on the first day of the Tamil Nadu Assembly in 2018. The Governor said “Vanakkam” and wished everyone “Anaivarukkum Puthandu Vazhthukkal (New Year wishes to everyone).” When the opposition parties shouted opposing his speech, the Governor asked them to be seated in Tamil. He said, “Ukkarunga, Ukkarunga.” Later, the opposition parties staged a walkout.
