The Tamil Nadu government has issued an order promoting 12 IPS officers and transfering 6 IPS officers. Officers in the Superintendent of Police posts including Dr KA Senthil Velan, Avinash Kumar, Asra Garg, AG Babu, Senthil Kumari, Duraikumar, Maheswari, Asiyammal, Radhika, Lalitha Lakshmi, Jaya Gowri and kamini are promoted to Deputy Inspector General positions. Bavaaneeswari has been tranfered as the Coastal Guard DIG, Santhosh Kumar as Villupuram DIG, Karthikeyan as Coimbatore DIG and Joshi Nirmalkumar as Dindigul DIG. While Anbu will take charge as the joint commissioner (Law and Order) of the Chennai city (east), Baskaran has been appointed as DIG for social justice and  human rights.
