A Russian youth, whose ATM pin number was locked, reportedly sat in front of a temple and started begging as he did not have money. The external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj reportedly said that the youth will get proper assistance from the Russian embassy in Chennai. However the youth did not approach the Russian embassy and reportedly said that he will stay in Kancheepuram even if he has to beg, as the embassy officials might ask him to go back to Russia.
