According to reports, to contain excess traffic in Koyambedu bus stand region, the following buses will start from these bus stands,
- Buses towards districts in Tamil Nadu including Velankanni, Trichy, Madurai, Thirunelveli, Sengottai, Panruti, Viluppuram, Tiruvannamalai, Kanchipuram, Salem, Coimbatore and buses travelling to districts in others states such as Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram and Bengaluru will start from Koyambedu.
- Buses towards Vellore and Andhra Pradesh will start from Anna Nagar West.
- Buses towards Arcot, Aarani, Vellore, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Thirupathur and Hosur will start from Poonamallee.
- Buses towards Kumbakonam, Tanjore, Tindivanam will start from Sanatorium.
- Buses towards Puducherry, Cuddalore, Chidambaram travelling through OMR will start from Saidapet.
