Non-brahmin priests in Tamil Nadu demand jobs

After M Karunanidhi passed an ordinance in 2006, saying that the non-brahmins have to be allowed to learn priesthood and that the government will have to provide them jobs in temples. Many people, who practised priesthood cleared examination in 2007-2008. Since they did not find a job in any temples of Tamil Nadu, they have reportedly started taking up jobs that they get. The coordinator of Tamil Nadu Government Trained Archakas' Association allegedly said that the Tamil Nadu government should take Kerala as an example and offer them jobs.
