According to a Times of India report, as part of the extension of phase-1 project, which will connect North Chennai to rest of the city, the Chennai Metro Rail Limited is all set to go ahead and procure 10 news trains from a French rail transport company. Notably, the phase-1 extension project across North Chennai will cover a stretch of 9.0151km between Washermenpet and Wimco Nagar.
