In Viruthachalam, Cuddalore, municipal authorities have come up with an innovative way to make people pay their taxes by placing dustbins in front of their houses. Allegedly, many living in Viruthachalam are not paying their taxes diligently and have caused a huge loss of revenue for the municipal management. Allegedly, Illayaperumal, a man living there had not paid his taxes since 2006 and so the officials came up with an idea to place a dustbin in front of his house till he does pay up.
